The fruit of our high spirits

Summer has gone and winter is coming, and the year so far has been full of rewarding moments. The small distilling team - Jack Sellers, Blair Whitehead, Bec Walsh and Scott Smith have been working their magic and crafting some amazing Nant single malt whiskies at the Nant Distillery and have picked up a couple of medals through out the year so far.

The sharp and peppery notes of the Nant ex Bourbon cask 43% and the hints of raisin, cinnamon, syrup and liquorice notes of the Nant ex Port cask 43% saw these two expressions pick up two Double Gold Medals at this year’s China Wine & Spirits Awards towards the end of January.

The results from the judges at this year’s World Whiskies Awards were a Silver Medal for the Nant ex Bourbon cask 43% and a Bronze Medal for the ex Port cask 43%, and the London Spirit Awards announced on the first day of May that our distilling team once again were awarded three medals. This time a Silver Medal for the Nant ex Port cask 43%, a Bronze Medal for the Nant ex Bourbon cask 43% and a Bronze Medal for the unique full bodied and syrupy White Oak 43%.

A few months later the Nant distilling team were awarded another Double Gold Medal this time for the sweet and spice of the Nant ex Sherry Cask 43% and the Nant ex Port cask 43% at the Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards that were held in London, England at the Royal Yacht Club.

The Nant distilling team is taking its Tasmanian Highland Single Malt Whiskies to the world and the fruit of their hard work and continuous focus on creating fine spirits is being acknowledged on an international platform.
